5 ways to prevent ticks and fleas on puppies

Majority of the dogs ( any breed ) will have this kind of issue especially when you let them go outside but hey it's normal! The ideal temperature for this parasites to live is around 70 to 85 degrees range, they can live  in a cool and warm temperature as well. The best seasons for them to spread and grow are basically Spring and Summer.

On The Go Treatments
As always ,this has been very effective method for killing fleas and ticks on your dogs, some treatements can also  keep the parasites away for a month. Avoid doing DIYs ( Do It on Your own ) in your dogs if you're unsure about what you're doing, its best to consult the vet in this kind of matter. These treatements can be bought directly in the petshop or even online. It's safe for your children in case your dog might have contact with them right after you apply the treatment.

Oral Medication
These are pills, it may vary on how much should the dog take for a day but most of the pills used are given once a month. These type of treatment will kill  imamture fleas and ticks, other benefits is it will stop the  life cycle of fleas. I strongly suggest you buy this in the vet instead of doing it online.

Shampoos
You can find a lot of these items in through the stores but be cautious of what kind of shampoo you want to buy, there is a dedicated shampoo in dogs for ticks and fleas. Some shampoos do not cost that much but others may ( It depends on the brand ). One thing we used is this Adams Plus Flea & Tick Shampoo right up until now its reputation is still on top 1. It has the benefit of other shampoos as well, no dogs coat can be irritated, soothing aloe, enriched with oatmel, etc.

Tick Collars
Cheap but effective, if you're on a tight budget this tick collars will save you a lot of money. In order to eliminate the ticks and fleas from your dog the collar must make contact with it's fur and skin to spread the chemicals from the collar to your dog. Put the collar in the neck of your dog make sure the the excess is cut to avoid them chewing on it. Make sure to read the labels when buying a collar.

Soap
If you have anti tick and flea shampoo, its best to partner them with the anti tick and flea soap as well. I'm using this kind of method up until now when there is a tick in my dog fur. I usually apply first the soap, soak it in its fur for about 10 minutes ( it depends on the instruction ) and wash it after that I use the shampoo for a better combination. You can also buy these kind of soaps in the pet shop, vet, or online. As always, be careful of what kind of soap you're buying, make sure to observe your dogs right after you wash and dry them, check if they soaps went off in their fur to avoid itching after bath.
